Things you will need to prepare your items to sell:
- Clothes and accessories that are in good condition
- Hangers
- Safety pins
- Ziploc bags
- A computer with internet access
- White Paper.
Easy and Quick Directions for tagging your items:
- Gather all your items to consign together. Make sure that they are in good condition with no holes or stains. (Please remember that the nicer your clothes look the better they will sell.)
- Place the items on a hanger so that the hook is facing the left. The hanger should look like a question mark. Use safety pins to attach any item that may fall off the hanger such as pants, skirts and blouses. Any infant items that will not fit on the hanger should also be safety pinned. Do NOT use straight pins or clothes pins.
- Take your items to your computer area and make sure that you have registered as a consignor. If you have not done so, please do so now. You can register on the home page at the bottom where it says register here. You will be given a consignor number. (Please write your number and password down) You may then begin to enter your items into the computer following the directions that are given. Your items must be at least $.50. If you wish to donate your items at the end of the sale you will receive a tax receipt and we will donate your items to a local charity that has been selected for this sale.
- Be sure to go ahead and schedule your time to come and drop off your items. We will try to have the process go as quickly as we can, however we will need your help with that process as well.
This guide will give you tips and ideas for pricing items so that you are putting money in your pocket and not taking your items back home. You are certainly welcome to price your items as you see best for you, but here are a few things to keep in mind when considering your pricing:
1. Presentation Matters!!!! Run the iron quickly over each item; take the little extra time to button all buttons, zip zippers, etc.
2. Clothing is best priced at 1/4 to 1/3 of the retail price.
3. When selecting your price for the item, think of the very least you would consider taking for it and that should be your price.
4. Consider this a great opportunity to clean out closets and kid's rooms. Do not let your time and energy go to waste by not selling everything you put in the sale. Price it to sell!!!
5. If someone comes to the sale and gets lots of bargains, they are probably going to tell their friends. The success of My Little Lollipop depends on a good turnout of shoppers. If we give them the bargains that they want, then it will grow each year. BE SURE TO TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND BRING THEM TO COME AND SHOP YOUR GREAT DEALS!
When finished entering your labels put your paper in the printer and press print. You are not required to print all at one time. Your information will be saved and you can always go back to it at a later date.
Safety pin your printed tags onto the items of clothing that they belong to. Make sure that the tag is on the left shoulder of the garment. (see example)
Load your items in the car and bring them to our sale! Then come enjoy shopping for new things for your children at the pre-sale.
